Runaway

This was my favorite for a really long time because it resonated in my life. Well, except for the working the night away on the streets (working at Domino's Pizza might have me covered for that description). I ran away from Jackson right after high school. I was so intensely hurt after that experience that I ran away from all relationships that had genuine potential.
If I'm not careful though, this could start sounding like a pity party, but that's not the intention. I am happy with how I've turned out. I count my blessings (and post one every day: see my Positive a Day tab above). I know every one of those experiences made me who I am.  Frankly, I'm pretty awesome!
Yesterday, I found out (for the first time ever) that this is Vicky's favorite Bon Jovi song, so this one goes out to her!
Have magnificent and amazing day!

On the street where you live girls talk about their social lives
They're made of lipstick, plastic and paint, a touch of sable in their eyes
(All your life) all your life all you've asked when's your daddy gonna talk to you
But you were living in another world tryin' to get your message through.

No one heard a single word you said.
They should have seen it in your eyes
What was going around your head.

[Chorus:]
Ooh, she's a little runaway.
Daddy's girl learned fast
All those things he couldn't say.
Ooh, she's a little runaway.

Take a line every night guaranteed to blow your mind
I see you out on the streets, calling for a wild time
So you sit home alone 'cause there's nothing left that you can do
There's only pictures hung in the shadows left there to look at you

You know she likes the lights at nights on the neon Broadway signs
She don't really mind, it's only love she hoped to find

[Chorus]

No one heard a single word she said
They should have seen it in your eyes
What was going around your head.

Ooh, she's a little runaway
Daddy's girl learned fast
All those things he couldn't say

Ooh, she's a little runaway
Daddy's girl learned fast
Now she works the night away

Ooh, she's a little runaway
Daddy's girl learned fast
All those things he couldn't say

Ooh, she's a little runaway
Daddy's girl learned fast
Now she works the night away
